Welcome to the JAMESMAKESYARN yarn club of 2026 - 'Blind Date - With a Skein' - a new mystery yarn club that will be running for the duration of the year with the colourway each month being exclusive to the club and a complete surprise to you all!

Sign ups for this fun and exciting new club will open up at the beginning of each month, so preorders for February’s colourway will open up today and will then be shipped out by the end of February. Sign ups for March’s skein will then open at the beginning of the month and will be sent out to you all before the end of March, this will then continue in this way for the rest of the year! This club will not be a continuous subscription so you will have to sign up each month if you wish to have all of the year's colourways, but you can of course choose to dip in and out throughout the year and sign up to whatever months you can or want to! You will receive a surprise colourway, exclusive to the club each month in your choosing of either 4ply or DK weight yarn and like I said, the colourways will be a complete mystery to you, but you can most definitely expect bright, fun and beautiful yarns!

The inspiration and intention behind ‘Blind Date - With a Skein’ is for you to receive a skein from me every month and then for you to take the time for yourself to enjoy it and to make something wonderful with it. That could either be one large continuous project like a blanket, using all of the year’s skeins together, or it could be multiple projects, where you make something new and different each month like 12 pairs of socks out of each colourway. The choice is truly yours and you can decide to use the skeins in whatever way your heart desires! The main purpose and goal for this yarn club is for you to take the time each month to go on a date with yourself, or with a loved one or maybe even a knitting group and to use that time to use the skein and work on your project with it. I knit or crochet wherever I go, and I want this club to spark joy in you too to do the same. From the cinema, to a coffee shop, from picnics in the park, to afternoon tea, from cosy days at home, to games night with friends, the list of date ideas is endless and I really hope you will enjoy finding those moments for you throughout the year to create something special. So whether you decide to save a date with yourself at home under a blanket watching your favourite film, or to cosy on up in your local coffee shop for hours, the intention is to take some time for you and your craft so when you look at what you have created you can also think back to those happy moments when you made it.

Please note, if you preorder a slot on this yarn club and order any ready to ship items in the shop along with it, all items from your order will be sent once the club yarn is dyed and ready to ship!   

This yarn is hand painted in the Cotswolds using professional dyes and methods. Although the yarn is dyed in small batches, to help encourage similar colourways, no two skeins will be the same, meaning each skein will be a one of a kind creation. Therefore, I would recommend when using the same colourway throughout a larger project, to alternate between the skeins to help blend the yarns together and help prevent pooling.

I take the upmost in care when photographing the yarn, but please note, colours may vary slightly from monitor to monitor, and some colourways may appear slightly different in real life. 

For best results, gently hand wash your knits with a drop of wool wash and let air dry. Although every effort has been made to remove excess dye from the yarn, minimal bleeding may occur on the first wash.
